Hyli is a next-generation Layer 1 for a post-proof world. It’s an opinionated blockchain built from the ground up to harness the full potential of cryptographic proofs, unlocking customizability, scalability, and privacy for developers and users.

Hyli combines native proof verification embedded directly into the protocol with a fast data dissemination and data availability layer powered by the Autobahn consensus algorithm.

• Computation must be verifiable, so we enshrined proof verification into the protocol and made it effortless to compose different proofs.
• Proofs introduce latency and overhead, so we invented pipelined proving to remove this bottleneck.
• The future runs on appchains, so everything on Hyli is an appchain by default: apps sequence on Hyli and update their state with a corresponding proof.

Hyli is:

• Highly simple: no execution environment, no native runtime. Just proofs and data.
• Highly efficient: leveraging the latest in consensus design (Autobahn) and proof systems (Risc0, SP1, Noir, etc.).
• Highly usable: identity and access flows powered by existing user credentials (email, wallets, credentials) and signed data (passports).

Sylve Chevet is the co-founder and CEO of Hyli, the new proof-powered L1 to build the next generation of apps.

With a background from HEC Paris and ENS, Sylve’s career spans experience in tech startups and venture capital. He later became a product manager at Ledger. Afterward, he co-founded the NFT protocol briq with his long-time friend Lancelot de Ferrière. Together, they launched Hyli in early 2024.

Passionate about privacy and freedom, Sylve believes that safeguarding them requires building trust infrastructure, especially through provable apps.

Lancelot de Ferrière is the co-founder and CTO of Hyli, the new proof-powered L1 to build the next generation of apps.

A graduate of HEC Paris, Lancelot discovered his love for data science during a semester abroad in the United States. He honed his skills at JobTeaser, where he spent four years in developer and data roles. In 2021, his long-time friend Sylve Chevet invited him to co-found the NFT protocol briq, which eventually led to the creation of Hyli in early 2024. At Hyli, Lancelot oversees the entire tech stack, from front-end and back-end to infrastructure and onchain development.

An avid open-source enthusiast, Lancelot has contributed to 0 A.D. for over 13 years.
